COMMENTO CANZONE:
Faust non è soltanto una leggenda eternata da Goethe. Gli appassionati di rock non avranno esitazioni a volgere il pensiero ad una vecchia band tedesca, i Faust, esempio di kraut-rock seminale e caro ai Radiohead. Chi era Faust? La leggenda deriva da un Johann Faust (1480-1540), astrologo e alchimista tedesco, che giurava di poter ripetere i miracoli di Cristo. Morì in circostanze mai chiarite che avallarono la leggenda di un patto con il diavolo. Nel libro di Goethe, il Faust è un individuo eroico che si batte per la scoperta del senso della vita: consapevole dei limiti dell'umana conoscenza, si dispera per sublimarsi, e capire l'essenza dell'esistenza.
